Rapper Hurricane Chris has been gearing up for a trial related to a shooting in 2020, resulting in the death of a man the rapper claims he was defending himself against. The rapper spoke about the incident with VladTV, saying he was charged with 2nd-degree murder despite shooting the man in self-defense. Now, more details related to the rapper’s trial have surfaced.

Via The Shade Room, Hurricane Chris’ lawyer gave an update on what went down at the rapper’s court hearing this past week and what it means moving forward. “Hurricane Chris’ actions were in self-defense and justified. Today, the court ruled to allow our Forensic analysis expert to testify at trial,” said Alex Washington.

The lawyer continued, “He will allow the second expert to testify once we provide a written report to the State. Both experts will assist in proving that Hurricane Chris’ actions were reasonable and justified. The February 1 date will clear up any small issues.” As of now, the Louisiana rapper is out of jail on bond. His trial date is set for February 13, 2023.
