Previously, Lil Meech of the popular ‘BMF’ series on Starz was arrested while at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport after a gun was found in his carry-on bag by TSA agents. The incident in December 2022 found Meech being charged with introducing a firearm into the sterile area of the airport, which is a felony. Now, reports noted charges against the actor had been dropped.

Meech and his security guard reportedly mixed up their bags, as the bag containing the gun belonged to the bodyguard. However, the police ignored the bodyguard and went straight for the actor, accusing him of having the weapon since he put the bag on the scanner himself.

The lawyer for Meech—Bradford Cohen, spoke to TMZ and cleared up the details of the situation. Cohen noted he showed evidence to Broward County prosecutors confirming the pistol belonged to the security guard. The evidence presented by Cohen showed a permit, gun case, and purchase receipt belonging to the bodyguard.

Meech and his bodyguard also have the same taste in luggage, according to Cohen, which is why Meech accidentally picked up the security guard’s carry-on bag while they were in a rush to the airport. Cohen noted Meech’s actual bag was left behind due to their rushing. In a statement issued to TMZ, the Broward County State’s Attorney's Office said prosecutors passed on filing charges because “of the facts and evidence available in the case and the statements made by” the actor.
