It was recently revealed R. Kelly was no longer facing sexual abuse charges in Illinois following a prosecutor dropping charges against him due to “extensive sentences” in his other federal cases. Cook County State Attorney Kim Foxx said pursuing prosecution against Kelly wasn’t a proper use of public funds. The singer’s attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, now revealed she talked to her client following Foxx’s decision.
While speaking to TMZ, Bonjean said, “There is no real sense of relief. He is still fighting for his life.” Bonjean then said, “He is facing decades in prison.” before continuing to say the state attorney made “the right move.”
Previously, R. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison in the New York case and is facing up to 10 to 90 years when he’s sentenced in February 2023. Stay tuned for more updates.
