E-40 showed much love to his alma mater Grambling State University, as the rapper donated $100,000 to the music department for upgrades. In a ceremony for the donation, the music department chair and director of the bands spoke about the rapper during the ceremony.

The Oakland rapper attended GSU in 1986, and the donation marks him giving back to the place where he once learned. However, the university had a surprise for 40, as they named the studio after him. GSU unveiled the Earl ‘E-40’ Stevens Sound Recording studio, and the rapper addressed the situation via Instagram by saying, “Proud to be in a position to give back to my alma mater @Grambling1901 and invest in the next generation of young talented musicians at the University!” Take a look above.
