DaBaby reportedly asked a judge in Los Angeles to postpone a civil trial related to an alleged assault that took place in 2020. It was noted the rapper is facing criminal charges for the situation as well.

Attorneys for the rapper asked a Los Angeles Superior Court judge to postpone the date of the trial to some time in October 2023. The rapper’s lawyer said his client “cannot be called to testify in this matter until after his criminal case has been resolved, which will not be until October 2023, at minimum.” The rapper was sued by a man named Gary Pagar, who says he rented his home out to the rapper. The agreement between them said DaBaby couldn’t have more than 12 people on the property. However, Pagar found out DaBaby had more than 12 people on the property for a video shoot, which prompted him to approach the rapper about breaking the agreement.

Pagar alleges he told people to get off the premises but was spit on as a result. Along with that, he claims he was attacked, with DaBaby chasing him into his home and punching him in his face. DaBaby left the scene before the cops showed up, according to the lawsuit.

Along with the civil suit, DaBaby was reportedly charged by the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office with felony battery for the alleged attack.
