As LeBron James is just 36 points away from breaking the NBA’s all-time scoring record held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar since 1984, LeBron spoke about his views of himself as a player.

He told Kyle Goon of the Orange County Register (and Southern California News Group), "What I bring to the table as a basketball player … I feel like I’m the best basketball player that ever played the game. That’s just my confidence, that’s just what I bring to the table, what I possess. But as far as if the scoring record gets me to another level, I don’t know."

Last September, LeBron sat down with TNT’s Kenny Smith, and he was asked what makes the greatest player in NBA history, and he said something similar. While speaking about winning the 2016 Finals with the Cavaliers, LeBron stated, "At that moment, I was like 'I'm the greatest basketball people have ever seen.' In all facets. I can play the one through five, I can guard one though five. ... [I] did something that's never been done in the history of the sport."
