Previously, former NFL player Brett Favre was accused of being wrapped up in a $77 million welfare fraud scandal in Mississippi. According to reports, Favre allegedly received $1 million in federal welfare money for talks he never gave. Favre was named in a civil lawsuit along with three former professional wrestlers and several businesses by the Mississippi DHS, who were looking to recover millions of dollars in welfare money that was misspent. Many gave their commentary on the news, including Shannon Sharpe. Now, it appears Favre is looking to get his lick back, as he filed a lawsuit against the TV personality.

Favre reportedly filed separate lawsuits against Sharpe and Pat McAfee for comments they made in the media related to the welfare fraud scandal. The former football player sued for defamation, claiming the ‘Undisputed’ host called him a “sorry mofo to steal from the lowest of low. Along with that, Favre alleged that Sharpe said he “stole money from people that really needed that money.”

The suit against McAfee finds the sports commentator being called out for comments made on his ‘Pat McAfee Show,’ where he alleged Favre was “stealing from poor people in Mississippi.” Another lawsuit also called out Mississippi state auditor Shad White for defamation. Stay tuned for more updates.
