--------
In this clip, Fredro Starr looks back on the first record deal that his group, Onyx, signed with Def Jam in the 90s. He also talks about being able to renegotiate the deal now that he's been in the rap game, professionally, for 30 years. Fredro Starr goes on to explain that he was signed to Def Jam through Jam Master Jay, who also had a bad contractual agreement with the legendary record label. Then, he indicates that Jam Master Jay would still be alive today if he had been signed to a better deal because he would not have needed to hustle in the streets. As the interview moves along, he explains why his lawyer was at fault for his bad record deal before stating that rappers today should work independently without the hassle of dealing with major record labels.
