In this clip, Smokey Robinson spoke about whether or not he’s ever signed any unfavorable contracts with Motown, which he said he hadn’t, although his contracts with promoters, on the other hand, may have left money on the table. But Smokey expressed how he doesn’t regret any contract he signed with Motown and Berry Gordy. According to Smokey, the entire premise of Motown was to get Black artists paid at a time when they weren’t properly compensated.
