Chloë Bailey received some pushback after announcing her latest single, "How Does It Feel," a collaboration with Chris Brown. Many people questioned why Chloë would collaborate with Brown, who has been labeled an abuser following his assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
In the years following the incident, Chris has been plagued with allegations by multiple women, including his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran, who was granted a restraining order against the singer for five years in 2017. The following year, an unidentified woman sued Brown and two others after she claimed she was held down and sexually assaulted in the Brown's home during a party on Feb. 23, 2017. The lawsuit was later dismissed and settled out of court.
As many people spoke out about Chloë's collaboration with Chris, Kiely Williams, known for being part of the popular girl group 3LW and an actress in Disney's "The Cheetah Girls," called out Chris.
Williams wrote on Twitter, "Let him come out with his own record—so genius, so captivating that it makes us all forget HE BEATS WOMEN. He can’t so he wont. So what does he do? He slowly creeps back into the mainstream by getting small nods for features on Black Women’s merit. Black women who are more talented, more worthy, but give him the okay. I am swatting the f**king air rn. Garbage."
Chris then responded to Williams on his Instagram Stories, writing, "I'm getting kind of tired of ya broken PROMITHIS PROMITHIS," a reference to people claiming Williams had a lisp on 3LW's hit song, "No More (Baby I'ma Do Right)." He followed up with another meme making fun of Williams, which prompted her to respond.
She wrote, "Obviously you are at a point in your life where you are very broke or broken...THE FACT you think you have to speak negatively about me makes u look so lame...YOUR LIFE AND CAREER MUST SUCK RIGHT NOW..Minding your business WOULD'VE been best..but I guess you don't have a business or real job that makes you financially stable. I feel more embarrassed for you and your actual maturity."
