Recently, an article was posted on Okayplayer, with writer Jewel Wicker examining the conversation surrounding “snitching” after Gunna took an Alford plea deal in the YSL racketeering case. It was noted several other defendants in the case took plea deals.
Via Twitter, Wicker retweeted the article and revealed that “Gunna’s team issued a statement reiterating that he has not cooperated [with] prosecutors after reading this article.” Wicker then gave the exact quote from the rapper’s co-lead defense counsel Steve Sadow, which said: “After reading Ms. Wicker’s outstanding, insightful article, I am obliged to say for the record one more time: Gunna has never been interviewed by or cooperated with law enforcement or prosecutors in the RICO case.”
Sadow continued, “Nor have his attorneys proffered information on his behalf. What was said at his Alford plea hearing was solely to resolve his own case. It cannot be used by the prosecution against Young Thug or any defendant.”
