Federal prosecutors have formally asked a federal judge to order Pooh Shiesty and his co-defendants to cough up more than $1.1 million in restitution for two men shot and injured in 2020.

Pooh Shiesty, along with co-defendants Bobby Brown and Jayden Darosa, was sentenced last year after pleading guilty to possessing guns in furtherance of various crimes. But now the three are back in court to contest having to shell out the cash, which prosecutors say is for past and future medical treatment.

Pooh Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell Williams, admitted as part of his plea agreement to his participation in three crimes: a nonfatal 2020 shooting in Memphis by someone in his vehicle, a 2021 incident where he allegedly assaulted a victim with a firearm at a Miami strip club, and an October 2020 drug deal where prosecutors say, "members of Williams' group" shot two men.

It is the October 2020 incident that may now come with a high price tag. In court filings, federal prosecutors say the two men are entitled to a total of $1,149,828.43, based on medical reports by a suffering expert named Dr. Craig Lichtblau.

But Pooh Shiesty's lawyer, Bradford Cohen, not only contests the restitution figure, but in a 2022 court hearing, he described it as nothing more than a judicial shakedown. Cohen said the two "victims" had showed up, with guns, to sell drugs to Pooh Shiesty and his friends.

"So it's essentially Tony Montana is asking the Colombians to pay him for the injuries he received," Cohen said, according to a transcript of the hearing.

For now, Pooh Shiesty, Brown, and Darosa are set to go back to court on Feb. 28 for a judge to decide the issue. In the meantime, Pooh Shiesty has filed a motion seeking the FBI to return $40,912 in cash that was seized from him at the start of the investigation.

In April 2022, Pooh Shiesty was given five years and three months in federal prison. Darosa was sentenced to 96 months, and Brown was given 57 months, court records show.
