A sphynx cat is now up for adoption following a frantic police raid at the Cereso 3 prison in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. Upon entering the facility, law enforcement procured the domestic animal before noticing a few peculiar characteristics. The cat had been inked with "prison tattoos." According to reports, the unnamed feline belonged to one of the gangs behind bars who altered its outward appearance with several tattoos, including one that read "Made in Mexico," a slogan often associated with the Sinaloa Cartel.

Shortly after being rescued, the sphynx cat was transported to a care center in Colonia Juárez (Mexico City) for rehabilitation and testing.

"The cat is very sociable and is in great shape, with no infections," said Cesar Rene Diaz, the ecology director.

After ascertaining that the animal had suffered abuse at the hands of inmates in its former home, the car remained at the care center for multiple weeks. Now that the animal has received treatment, the hope is to give it to an adopted family during a ceremony on March 1st.
