In this clip, Freeway opened up about dealing with being diagnosed with kidney failure and how his Islamic faith helped him navigate the tough mental and physical terrain his diagnosis created. Freeway talked about how common kidney failure is and pointed to Scarface as another example of how it’s touched others in hip-hop.

Later, Vlad asked Freeway about running into Jay-Z backstage at a Beyoncé concert in 2018 and telling him that he was ready to release another album. Freeway explained that he wasn’t able to do an album due to obligations to his label, and he added that he always kept in contact with Jay-Z. From there, Freeway spoke about releasing the “Think Free” project after signing another deal with Roc Nation, which had features from Lil Wayne and Lil Uzi Vert. Freeway went on to speak about awaiting a kidney transplant during this time, and he added that he continued to work and tour while on dialysis. He then spoke about how his life changed after getting the transplant, and Freeway detailed getting a kidney through the “Gift of Life” program. When asked about inmates getting a reduced sentence for being organ donors, Freeway spoke about being a testament to the importance of these programs.
