In this clip, Shawn Prez started off speaking to Dr. Michael Baden about NYPD officers joking about planting drugs on Black people if they found them dead. Shawn Prez continued to speak about how Dr. Baden’s revelation highlights what’s been going on for years with the police and people of color. From there, Dr. Baden spoke about his experiences growing up as an “outsider” in the Fort Greene projects in Brooklyn as one of the few Jewish kids. Dr. Baden explained that when he got into the medical examiner’s office, he started to notice more Black people in jail. He added that they were told that there was a “higher rate of bad people” in jail, referring to Black people.
