Part 2: Sickamore & Saigon on Almost Getting Shot by Prodigy's Crew During an Argument
--------
In this clip, Sickamore reflects back on his move to NYC from Trinidad with his family. He then talks about what helped him develop an entrepreneurial mindset as a teen when he was burning custom-made CDs for people called "Anthrax on Wax." This prompts a discussion about DJ Vlad's old days as a mixtape DJ, how and when the guys met DJ Vlad before he was famous, and the thought process behind Sickmore's decision to make mixtapes with nothing but instrumentals.
Moving along, Sickamore reveals that his nickname was inspired by lyrics from his favorite rapper, Biggie. He then tells the story about how he became an A&R manager, why he fell in love with the craft, and why he chose that career path over music production. This prompts Saigon to jump in and talk about the mythic aura that surrounded the title of "A&R" back when he was just an aspiring rapper.
Elsewhere in the clip, Saigon and Havoc chatted with Sickamore about how he was first introduced to Saigon’s music. They discussed their connection to other important hip-hop figures like DJ Kay Slay but mainly spoke about Sickamore linking Saigon with Just Blaze.
