Update 03/05/2023 11:46am:
Angela Yee recently appeared on ‘The Tamron Hall Show’ and spoke candidly about her time on the hit radio show ‘The Breakfast Club’ along with former co-hosts DJ Envy and Charlamagne. Yee went on to lay out the issues she encountered as “the only woman who worked there.” DJ Envy previously hopped in the comments of a post on Instagram to clear up the statement from Yee and now has been asked in person about the comments.
While speaking to the Michigan Chronicle for an interview, Envy was asked about Yee’s comments on being the only woman at the show. “I mean, she was. I mean, it was her, Charlamagne and myself, so she was the only woman on air,” said Envy. He continued, “But behind the scenes, it was so many different- I mean, our boss, the actual person that pays our bills and pays our checks and hires us is Thea Mitchem who’s a woman. I think she misspoke, I think the words were taken out of I guess technicality. I’m sure she would clean it up, but there’s a lot of women who work on that show.”
Envy noted there’s no beef with Yee, who has her own show that comes on right after ‘Breakfast Club,” saying, “It’s no beef or nothing like that. I guess her comments and the things that she said were taken out of character and taken out of what they really meant.” Watch above.

In addition to Angela Yee's comments about being treated differently than her former co-host Charlamagne, Angela spoke with Tamron Hall about being the only woman working on the show.
“I was the only woman who worked there, too; I mean when it came to producers, camera people—and it wasn’t an easy room for me to be in,” Yee said. “I feel like I did need more like backup you know because even things that I felt, as a woman … somebody can’t understand your point of view because they’re not coming from where you come from. So that was hard for me too, to be the only woman there.”
Her comments were met with some pushback from her other former co-host DJ Envy who took issue with Angela's claim that she was the sole woman working on the popular radio program.
Envy hopped in the comments and called "cap" on Yee's statement and noted that "there are plenty of women that work behind the scenes."
