Last year while on VladTV, 808 Mafia producer Southside declared that Metro Boomin is the #1 producer in the world right now. Metro has a string of hits he’s crafted for artists like Future, Migos, Young Thug, Kanye West, Travis Scott, Drake, and more over the years that can back up Southside’s statement. Now, reports surfaced noting Metro has sold some of his publishing in a massive deal.
The details that have surfaced related to the deal say that the producer sold a part of his catalog to Shamrock Capital for almost $70 million. The company that made the purchase reportedly revealed they raised $600 million in funding so they can grab the rights to music, TV shows, film, sports, video games, and more.
The company was previously tied to a deal with Dr. Dre and Universal Music, where the producer walked off with over $200 million.
