--------

In this clip, Angie Stone shares her thoughts on an old article in Spin magazine that compared her to Mary J. Blige and Whitney Houston, claiming that she did not get the credit she deserved because of her weight. She explains that while she never read it, she appreciated the notion that her catalog would have received more attention if she hadn't been viewed as overweight by the public back then. This prompts her to give a shout-out to artists like Lizzo for paving the way for plus-sized recording artists. She also refers to her son, a rapper/singer named Swayvo Twain, before stating her wishes for him to be appreciated as an artist in the music industry despite his larger frame.

Elsewhere in the clip, the R&B veteran explains the logic behind her decision to temporarily focus her efforts on an acting career in an effort to diversify herself when her music career seemed to become stagnant at Arista Records. She touches on her work on shows such as "Moesha" and "Girlfriends" before revealing that she also mentored younger recording artists like Alicia Keys and Fantasia.
