According to reports, Colombian Naval authorities seized nearly 3 tons of cocaine on a submarine off the country's coast on its way to Central America. Authorities also discovered two dead bodies on board.
Two other individuals were recovered and treated for "poor health" due to exposure to toxic fumes from the vessel. “The Colombian Navy will continue deploying all its capabilities to counter the scourge of drug trafficking structures that commit crimes in the Colombian Pacific,” Colombian officials said in a statement released Sunday.
The nearly 5,900 pounds of cocaine aboard has a reported street value of $87 million.
