Lil Wayne often gets credited for providing the platform to launch Tyga into superstardom. However, many fans' introduction to Tyga was through his breakout single "Coconut Juice." The single happened to feature Travie McCoy, who was riding a wave of success at the time as the lead vocalist of the rap/rock band Gym Class Heroes.
In recent years, Travie McCoy has called out Tyga for failing to mention his contributions to the Young Money artist's career. McCoy even claimed in a 2021 interview with Hot New Hip Hop that he spent money on exposing Tyga to a wider audience.
Travie McCoy joined Mod Sun on stage as a surprise guest performer Wednesday night, where he called out Tyga. Tyga has been linked to Avril Lavigne since this past February, shortly after the singer ended her engagement to Mod Sun. Shortly after photos showed Tyga and Lavigne together, Mod Sun revealed he was "broken" over the breakup and supposed affair.
During his surprise set, Travie McCoy told the audience Mod Sun was one of the most loyal people he knows before yelling, "F*** Tyga," to the crowd. The crowd is heard roaring afterward before chanting "f*** Tyga" throughout the venue. Mod Sun also had a smile on his face as McCoy exited the stage.
