Ja Morant is gearing up for his return to the court after a tumultuous couple of weeks following his now-infamous IG Live session where he flashed a firearm. Morant has since gone through counseling and was seen on the bench cheering on his teammates in Monday's win over the Dallas Mavericks.

During his first media availability since the suspension, Morant vehemently denied having an alcohol problem after as much was suggested by the league in their assessment of the IG Live clip when it was determined alcohol played a role in the entire ordeal.

"Never had an alcohol problem," Morant said. "I didn't go there for alcohol. I went there for counseling. To learn how to manage stress and cope with stress in a positive way, instead of ways how I tried to deal with it before that caused me to make mistakes."

Morant added, "[the] only problem with me right now is just getting into a space mentally that I'm very comfortable in and I feel good at. That's why I made the decision to take time away and go to counseling. That helped me learn a lot of things."
