Dallas Mavericks star guard/forward Luka Doncic was fined $35,000 by the league for making an inappropriate gesture toward the officials in their controversial loss against the Golden State Warriors earlier this week.
Luka made a "money" gesture toward the refs during Wednesday's contest against the Warriors suggesting the officials' judgment was compromised by bribery.
This has been a tough season for officials in the NBA as several marquee players have voiced frustration with the way games have been called. The Toronto Raptors Fred VanVleet was assessed a hefty fine for his comments a few weeks back calling official Ben Taylor a "d***" for consistently "f***** up the games" he officiates. Needless to say, this issue will crop up again as the NBA gears up for its most difficult officiating task in calling games for the NBA Playoffs.
