Recently, it was revealed that actor Jonathan Majors was arrested after an alleged domestic altercation with a woman following them leaving a bar in Brooklyn. Now, it has been reported that the woman has recanted her statements against the actor.

A criminal defense lawyer for Majors—Priya Chaudhry, spoke to TMZ and said “Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and is probably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows. We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently.” 

While speaking to the LA Times, the lawyer said her legal team acquired “two written statements from the woman recanting these allegations.” Chaudhry also said that Majors “is completely innocent and probably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows.” The lawyer noted in another statement that the woman who made a claim against Majors “was having an emotional crisis, for which she was taken to the hospital.” Stay tuned for more updates.

Jonathan Majors was recently arrested in New York City after the actor allegedly assaulted a woman on March 25. However, a representative for Majors says the allegations against him are bogus. 

The allegations stem from the actor’s 30-year-old girlfriend, who claims she got into an argument with the actor while they were in a taxi coming home from a Brooklyn bar, which caused him to allegedly put hands on her. The woman allegedly saw the actor texting another woman, which caused her to call him out. She then said Majors became upset, allegedly grabbing her before slapping her. 

Because of that, Majors went elsewhere while the woman was dropped off at another location. The following morning, the woman went to the police to file a report. Majors was reportedly arrested and taken in as police say they had probable cause, according to sources.

Majors was released without bail by a judge following an arraignment on Saturday night in Manhattan criminal court. The actor was charged with misdemeanor assault, aggravated harassment, attempted assault, and harassment and is set to return to court in May 2023.
