--------
In this clip, Johnny Chang started off explaining gang slang, including “car,” which is someone that you’re rolling with, like a group. From there, Cavario started off addressing a 2002 L.A. Times article about 12 Wah Ching members being arrested with the help of informants and wiretaps. Johnny explained that he was in proximity to the gang when the FBI was investigating Wah Ching, and he added that he knew some of the members who were arrested. Johnny added that he knew that arrests came with the territory, and he continued to do robberies, including one that led to his friend being shot.
Moving along, Johnny Chang opened up about his friend being shot and killed and the trauma of being present at the time. Johnny talked about holding his friend and described some of the sounds and smells that are etched in his memory as a result of the traumatic event. To make matters worse, Johnny explained how the police showed a lack of empathy and didn’t rush to aid his friend and were instead trying to figure out if Johnny was the one who shot him as he lay lifeless in the street.
