Big Gipp spoke on the 1995 Source Awards, where Suge Knight gave his infamous speech aimed at Puff Daddy, with Gipp describing being in the audience during that jab at the Bad Boy Records head. Gipp equated the experience to being in prison, going to the yard for the first time, and meeting everybody. The rapper said it was his first time seeing different artists from different regions outside of viewing them on Black Entertainment Television. The Goodie Mob member then talked about Outkast being booed after winning ‘Best New Rap Group’ at the Source Awards, saying he thinks it was because they were so new and people were wrapped in the brewing East Coast/West Coast issues.
