Bow Wow appeared on Math Hoffa’s podcast and spoke about his career, giving detailed highlights and low moments during his journey. At one point in the interview, Bow Wow was asked how he connected with Jermaine Dupri and So So Def, revealing that it almost didn’t go down for him.
The rapper said his mom pulled him out of football practice to let him know they would meet JD in Atlanta. Bow noted he didn’t know who Jermaine was at first until his mom said, “You know Kris Kross?” From there, Bow told Math, “And as soon as she said Kris Kross — and rest in peace to Kris — I was like, ‘Nah, I’m cool.’ Because I was such a hater of Kris Kross, being on Death Row …, and I’m watching these n***as go up. I’m like, ‘I hate these n***as.’ … I despised Kris Kross. And then once I met ABC, I clicked with them.” Watch above.
