Video footage surfaced of the Dalai Lama kissing a child on the lips then asking the child to “suck my tongue” while at an event in northern India. The footage caused much backlash and caused the office of the Dalai Lama to issue a statement. The office said he “wishes to apologize to the boy and his family, as well as his many friends across the world, for the hurt his words may have caused.” From there, they noted the Dalai Lama “regrets” the situation before saying “His Holiness often teases people he meets in an innocent and playful way, even in public and before cameras.”
Since then, Cardi B has taken to social media to react to the news while speaking candidly about protecting children. “This world is full of predators. They prey on the innocent. The ones who are most unknowing, our children,” said the rapper.
She continued “Predators could be our neighbors, our school teachers, even people wit money, power & our churches. Constantly talk with your kids about boundaries and what they shouldn’t allow people to do to them.” A response to Cardi from a fan mentioned that their parents were overprotective because of situations like the Dalai Lama, with Cardi responding “[Yup] No sleepovers nothing!!!”
