According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, DeMarcus Cousins is signing with the Guaynabo Mets, a Puerto Rican Professional Basketball League team, in a bid to make a return to the NBA.

This comes after Cousins has publicly stated several times that he wants to make it back in the NBA, including in November 2022 when he told SacTown Sports 1140 host Carmichael Dave that he "Would love to help get Sac back to the playoff." The 32-year-old last played for the Denver Nuggets during the 2021–22 season.

During an interview with  SiriusXM NBA Radio in March, Cousins spoke about wanting to get back in the NBA. He explained, "I look at myself first. What can I do to better myself?" He added, "I've reached out to former teams and I kind of get sugar-coated answers. I can never get the raw honest truth."

Cousins also told Kevin Garnett on the KG CERTIFIED podcast, which was released on Monday (April 10), that he considers himself "the third-best center in the league." As he's "waiting around" on teams to give him a call, he'll be lending his talents to Puerto Rico.

More details to come.
