The real GOAT hasn't played an NBA game for about 20 years but continues to set the standard both on and off the court.
The latest instance which reifies Jordan's GOAT status is the cultural impact of his all-too famous sneaker line. Just recently, MJ's game-worn AJ 13s from Game 2 of the 1998 NBA Finals, his last time at the mountaintop of the league, were put up for auction and went for an absolutely ridiculous price.
According to reports, the worn and signed AJ 13s sold for a whopping $2.2 million making it the single most expensive pair of shoes ever sold.
"The historic sneakers were worn during the most recognizable season of Jordan's storied career, which helped secure his legacy as the greatest basketball player of all time," Sotheby's said.
