While appearing on former NBA sharpshooter JJ Redick's increasingly popular podcast "Old Man and the Three," J.R. Smith recounted a wild story about his old Cavs teammate Matthew Dellavedova.

Smith described and praised "Delly's" effort guarding Stephen Curry in the 2015 NBA Finals.“Delly almost died guarding Steph Curry. We have footage of this man in the ice tub like literally to his neck… He could barely talk after, that’s how hard he was trying.”

Delly found himself in the starting lineup playing major minutes after Kyrie Irving went down with a knee injury early in the series. Smith said Delly gained his respect following that series as a one of the hardest working people he knows.
