Part 1: Terrance Roberts on Denver Adopting L.A. Gang Culture, Joining Bloods at 14
--------
In this clip, Terrance Roberts discussed how he left the activist scene and became a home inspector to make some money in the wake of the shooting he was involved in. However, Terrance was roped back into activism after the death of Nipsey Hussle rattled not only Los Angeles but Bloods and Crips in Denver felt the loss as well. He then recounted helping organize and lead protests in the wake of Elijah McClain, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd being killed by police and how all this experience makes him qualified to be the next mayor of Denver.
Later, Terrance Roberts discussed his plans to declare housing a human right if he becomes mayor of Denver. Terrance noted that half of Denver’s homeless population is Black despite Black people making up only 10% of the city’s entire population. Later, Terrance talked about the type of politician he’s planning to be and the type of figures in public service he’s emulating, from Malcolm X and MLK to Barack Obama.
