Sports fans expected the first-round matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies to have its share of trash-talking after Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks said he preferred to go against LeBron James and the Lakers. Expectations were met in Game 2 when LeBron and Brooks went at each other on the court, but what Brooks said about James off the court has raised the anticipation for Game 3.

After the Grizzlies' 103-93 win over the Lakers, Dillon Brooks was questioned about his verbal exchange with LeBron James during the game. When one reporter cautioned Brooks about provoking a player on the level of LeBron, the 27-year-old doubled down on his approach to the future Hall of Famer.

"I don't care, he's old," Brooks responded. "I was waiting for that. I was expecting him to do that Game 4, Game 5. He wanted to say something when I got my fourth foul. He should have been saying that earlier on. But I poke bears. I don't respect no one until they come and give me 40."

Despite LeBron's 28-point performance, Memphis managed to win the game without their star player, Ja Morant. Brooks had 12 points but hit a critical three late in the game. Game 3 at Los Angeles is scheduled for Saturday, April 22.
