Previously, Phil Jackson made comments about the NBA, noting he didn’t watch games in the league like that anymore because of the prominence of social justice slogans being shown. Jackson said, “[…] And they had things on their backs like ‘Justice.’ I made a little funny thing like, 'Justice just went to the basket and Equal Opportunity just knocked him down.' [...] So, my grandkids thought that was pretty funny to play up those names. So, I couldn't watch that.” Because of the comments, many people online hit Jackson with the stamp of being a racist, and others, like Jalen Rose of ESPN, called out Jackson.
Recently, Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler faced off against the Milwaukee Bucks and helped the Heat win by dropping 56 points on their opponents. Skip Bayless chimed in with his thoughts on the win pushed by Butler, with Bayless’ comments clowning Jackson in the process.
