Last weekend, boxing fans were treated to a mega fight in the lightweight division when Gervonta "Tank" Davis (29-0) stopped Ryan Garcia (23-1) in the 7th round at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The challenger landed more jabs than his southpaw opponent, but in the end, counter-punching by Tank Davis proved to be the difference maker as he connected on more power punches than Garcia, including the bout-ending body punch to his liver. In the aftermath of "Davis vs. Garcia," the latter is currently listed as the third-ranked boxer in the lightweight division (according to The Ring), one spot ahead of Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz--a man who many boxing fans consider to have been Tank Davis' toughest opponent to date (he went 12 rounds with Tank Davis back in December of 2021).

Shortly after the "Davis vs. Garcia" fight, Pitbull Cruz (24-2) took to Twitter to address Garcia, who previously called him a "Chihuahua" on Twitter and "C class fighter."

"Eeey @kingryan Si yo soy peleador clace C Entonces tu que clase de peleador eres Z Jajajajaja"

In English: Hey Ryan, If I'm a C level fighter then what class are you from Z? (laughs)

Despite the back and forth between Ryan Garcia and Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz over the years, the two sides have failed to agree on terms for a bout. According to reports, negotiations fell through twice in 2021 and again in 2022 after the WBC ordered an elimination match between the two fighters.
