Charlamagne Tha God has been a polarizing figure since the start of The Breakfast Club, and while plenty of guests have went back-and-forth with him on the air, he admitted that one of his beefs stands out.
While speaking to Gillie and Wallo on "Million Dollaz Worth of Game," Charlamagne spoke about how he dissed Busta Rhymes for his freestyle over Jay-Z and Kanye's "Otis." Charlamagne even admitted that he was being an "asshole" with the diss.
"So there was some people, and I apologize to people for this all the time, just because we have to hold our own icons in high regard. If we don’t respect our OGs, then nobody will. It was that freezer shit, man. I used to put rappers in a freezer back in the day. I put Busta in the freezer ’cause Busta had did a freestyle over [JAY-Z and Kanye West’s] ‘Otis’ beat. And the crazy shit is, the shit is actually hard, but I was just being an asshole."
He added, "So it was Busta Rhymes and DMX — God bless the dead — on the ‘Otis’ beat, but I gave him ‘Donkey of the Day’ for no reason. It really was for no reason."
Charlamagne then spoke about how he and Busta were at Melanie Fiona's birthday party, and Busta stepped to him over the diss. Charlamagne then explained that he didn't back down from Busta, "I said, ‘Yeah, I know you. You a dude who used to be hot but your sh*t wack now.’ Busta said, ‘You better stop this tough guy sh*t before I f*** you up in here!’ I’m drunk as sh*t, I’m like, ‘I’ma f*** you up.'"
Charlamagne went on to reveal that their respective crews broke up the situation, and he added that he later apologized to Busta and worked things out.
