According to NFL Insider Josina Anderson, the Baltimore Ravens have agreed to terms on a five-year contract extension with their star quarterback, Lamar Jackson. The lucrative deal comes after a tumultuous negotiation process that endured for nearly one year, culminating with the Ravens assessing Lamar with a non-exclusive "Franchise Tag" before he responded with a trade request on March 2nd. The record-breaking business transaction was ushered in by Lamar's mother (and agent), Felicia Jones, who had been blamed and heavily scrutinized due to what several media outlets perceived as a lack of experience in negotiating agreements within the NFL circle. Lamar's deal will pay him $185 million guaranteed and it makes him the highest-paid signal-caller in the NFL, ahead of Jalen Hurts, who recently signed a five-year contract extension with the reigning NFC Champions (Philadelphia Eagles) worth $255 million.
