In the weeks leading up to the highly anticipated super fight between Gervona "Tank" Davis (27-0) and Ryan Garcia (24-1), boxing's undisputed Lightweight Champion, Devin Haney (29-0), criticized the "Re-Hydration" clause that Tank's camp implemented into the contract. To that, Tank fired back on Twitter.
"Dis NO KNUCKLES PILLOW FISTED MF rehydrates 24 lbs, basically coming in as a middleweight and still can't give his opponents a NOSE BLEELD," Tank wrote.
The back-and-forth commentary between the #1 and #3 ranked lightweight boxers in the world (according to The Ring) has intensified over the years, causing many pundits to speculate that Tank will face the winner of Haney's upcoming bout against Vasiliy Lomachenko (17-2) on May 20th. In a recent interview with Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Adrien Broner, a former WBC Lightweight Champion, recounted a sparring match between Tank and Haney that took place about seven years ago. Broner explained that the session occurred in front of himself, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and a packed gym. As he detailed the heated exchange, the 33-year-old revealed that although Tank rocked Haney with a power punch at the start of the match, the younger fighter got the best of him as the session unfolded.
Scroll up to watch Adrien dish on the sparring session between Tank and Haney before giving his prediction on what would happen today if they officially met in the ring.
