In this clip, Vlad asked Neil deGrasse Tyson about someone saying that “the Black community can’t afford the luxury of someone with your intellect to spend it on” astrophysics. Neil then clarified that he was told that in undergrad while he was wrestling, and his teammate told him that. Neil admitted that “it was a heavy emotional burden” that his teammate put on him, despite knowing that his passion was in astrophysics.
