Actress Theresa Randle was a staple in the 1990s with her roles in classic films, such as The Five Heartbeats, Jungle Fever, Malcolm X, CB4, and Space Jam. One of her most noteworthy films is the Bad Boys series, where she plays Marcus Burnett's (Martin Lawrence) wife.
However, it was recently announced that Randle would be replaced by Tasha Smith for the fourth installment of the Bad Boys series. No reason was given for the switch, but a recent video circulating social media may offer a clue as to why Randle was removed from one of her most notable roles.
In the above video, Randle is seen in a walker while wearing a sweatshirt, gloves, and baseball cap. The actress is seen having a casual conversation with someone and even smiles during the clip. But, fans still expressed concern over the actress's condition, with many questioning whether she's dealing with a health concern or a drug issue. Despite the speculation, many fans seemed to send the actress well wishes.
"Read the room please," wrote one commenter on Hollywood Unlocked's Instagram post. "I remembered when Chad Boseman was spotted and people where speculating all kinds of things and he was battling and fighting for his life. I pray whatever the situation is with Theresa Randle that she will be ok."
Another Instagram user wrote, "1. They ain’t have to record her. 2. Hollywood could have worked that into the movie, she would be aging as its been 28 years so illness would be common. 3. Accusing somebody of being on drugs with no evidence to support it should be a crime requiring you to write a paper on credible resources as punishment, 15 pages double spaced."
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will reprise their roles in the upcoming Bad Boys film, while Paola Núnez, Vanessa Hudgens, and Alexander Ludwig have also been cast.
