NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic broke the news that the Memphis Grizzlies have had enough of Dillon Brooks and his antics as the franchise informed the pending free agent that he would not return to the team "under any circumstance."
JJ Redick appeared on First Take yesterday when he took issue with Shams's reporting. ""I'd be willing to bet that language didn't come from the Grizzlies," Redick said about the "under any circumstances," portion of Charania's report. Redick then went on to argue that whoever approved that language, "wants to make Dillon Brooks the scapegoat," for the Grizzlies' issues."
While the news seemed much more like a formality considering Brooks's comments toward LeBron James, Brooks's agent retweeted the clip of Redick's comments to call out Shams and his journalistic practices/integrity.
"@ShamsCharania the leader of spreading false news and attacking players. Why any player in the league talks to this guy blows my mind. #weirdo," tweeted Mike George, founder of OneLegacy Sports Management, which represents Brooks, in addition to Jamal Murray, Shaedon Sharpe, and others.
