Previously, Tory Lanez’s new lawyer claimed he had new information proving the artist’s innocence. Now, the lawyer claims there were contradicting eyewitness statements presented during the trial.
Via Instagram, Lanez’s lawyer Jose Baez posted a statistic saying, “Mistaken eyewitness identifications contributed to approximately 69% of the more than 375 wrongful convictions in the United States overturned by post-conviction DNA evidence.” From there, he added the hashtag “#FreeTory.”
Another post from Baez found him showing the alleged contradicting statements from witnesses in the case. Baez then said, “This is why the DNA that excluded Tory Lanez must be heard by a jury. It’s a farse that someone fires a gun 5 times, it’s immediately recovered and does not leave DNA.” Take a look above.
