Tory Lanez recently got a new lawyer who claimed to have new information proving his innocence. Along with that, the new lawyer said there were contradicting eyewitness statements in the shooting case involving Megan Thee Stallion.
Since then, the rapper has been asking for a new trial in the case against the Texas rapper, in which he was previously found guilty for. Both sides in the case previously spoke to a judge, with both sides pushing for if there should be a new trial as opposed to standing by the current ruling.
More details surfaced in a new court date for Lanez, who pleaded with a judge to grant him a new trial. According to LA Magazine journalist Meghan Cuniff, Lanez pleaded to the judge before being taken away in cuffs.
“Court just let out for the day. Judge Herriford is going to issue his ruling tomorrow at 10:30 a.m,” said the reporter. Cuniff continued, “Tory Lanez spoke to him before he was led out in handcuffs. ‘Please don’t ruin my life. I could be your son. I could be your brother,’ Lanez told the judge, who is Black.”
Cuniff’s tweet concluded by saying, “There wasn’t a commotion. A sheriff’s deputy was urging Lanez to shut up but it wasn’t a big thing. Herriford didn’t say anything back, and Lanez was led out of the courtroom without incident. This followed loooong argument this afternoon. More details soon.” Another detail pointed out by Lanez’s defense when trying to argue for a new trial found Jose Baez saying a “love triangle” story involving Lanez, Meg, and Kylie Jenner hurt the defense.
