Previously, a medical expert claimed that Jonathan Majors’ assault accuser was lying. Since then, Jonathan Majors appeared in court for the criminal case involving an alleged altercation between him and a woman he was involved with. It was noted that the charges against Majors are staying in place, causing his lawyer to point out the possibility of bias due to race.
According to Majors’ lawyer, Majors appeared before a judge on Tuesday in his first moment to counter the criminal case issued by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. It was noted that Majors will still be facing charges of 3 counts of attempted assault, harassment and one count of aggravated assault. The district attorney said a future hearing will take place to review a motion filed by the actor’s legal team, with the hearing in June 2023.
The actor’s lawyer said she and her team gave up irrefutable evidence that was set to exonerate Majors. However, the D.A. allegedly didn’t pay it any mind. Priya Chaudhry then claimed she has clear proof that the alleged victim of Majors is lying about the night of the incident, noting her client is being falsely prosecuted.
Chaudhry then said “When Mr. Majors showed a white police officer the injuries the woman caused him, the white officer got in Mr. Majors' face and taunted him, saying that if the officer were to slap Mr. Majors, the officer wouldn't break his finger.” The lawyer continued, “None of the white officers present investigated the assault of Mr. Majors. Worse, the District Attorney has not indicated any intention to pursue charges against the woman, or even investigate the truth.” Stay tuned for more updates.
