Dolph Lundgren, the actor who shot to fame with his role in "Rocky IV" as Ivan Drago, has revealed that he's been battling cancer over the past eight years.
Dolph shared the news during a sit-down on "In Depth With Graham Bensinger," where he detailed first getting the news in 2015. He then added that there was a five-year span where he was fine, until a scan in 2020 showed more tumors in his body. After the tumor on his liver grew too large to be surgically removed, Dolph was placed on systemic therapy.
During the interview, Dolph revealed that his doctor told him that he had 2-3 years left, and he sought an alternative treatment from another doctor that was successful. While speaking about what he thinks could have caused his cancer, Dolph questioned if it was the steroids that he took years ago.
He stated, "I tried steroids back in the 80s, 90s. I don't know if that is something to do with the cancer, of course it struck me as it could have something to do with it. I thought about it, you always think you've made a mistake. I think maybe there is some connection between testosterone therapy and cancer. I was on steroids when I was younger, on and off for maybe ten years. Depending on the kind of movie I made."
