The last three years have been a trying time for Jacksonville-based rapper K Shordy (aka Terise Powe). In March, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison after a gun incident that left him with a bullet wound in a vacant parking lot after law enforcement was able to link his DNA to a nearby AR-15 riffle and an article of clothing involved in the shooting. The occurrence gave K Shordy a gang-related felony just weeks before the pretrial in his separate murder case began.

K Shordy's murder case stems from an incident in September of 2021 when rappers from a rival Jacksonville gang named Spinabenz, Greenlight, and BMG Jay (aka 187 NoFace), were sitting together in a Dodge Challenger at Runway gestation shortly after Spinabenz revealed their location on Instagram. In response, a group of assailants in a black Range Rover Evoke pulled up and opened fire, resulting in BMG Jay's death and K Shordy being linked to the horrific scene upon a police investigation.

Footage recently surfaced of K Shordy telling his mom that he had been charged with murder from an interrogation room moments after being questioned by law enforcement.
