The Los Angeles Lakers eliminated the defending champion Golden State Warriors from the playoffs in six games, punching their ticket to the Western Conference Finals for the second time in four years. However, as well as the Lakers are playing at the moment, this season got off to a slow start and underwent significant personnel changes with mid-season trades of Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley. It was unlikely that the Lakers would be in this position if we were to take most of the regular season as an indicator.
