According to reports, an 18-year-old charged in the murder of rapper Pop Smoke has confessed to fatally shooting the Brooklyn native during the February 2020 home invasion turned murder. In addition to the admitting to the shooting, he also confessed to other charges related to the home invasion.

The suspect's name was withheld because he was 15-years-old at the time of the crime and was charged in juvenile court. As a result, he'll spend the duration of his sentence in juvenile custody where he could remain incarcerated until he's 25.

Another defendant in the case pleaded guilty earlier this year. The 20-year-old defendant was 17 at the time of the home invasion and was also charged as a juvenile. Two men, Keandre Rodgers and Corey Walker, are still facing murder charges in the case, and could face the death penalty if convicted.
