In this clip, John Salley recounted being a member of the Lakers during the Shaq and Kobe era and watching Shaq dunk on Yao Ming. He described the sheer size of Yao, who was 7’6" and well over 300 lbs, and how he couldn’t fathom having to guard him. He also detailed why playing for that Lakers team was his second favorite job because he got to hang out with Shaq and Kobe, and he only played every 5 games.
Later, Vlad asked John Salley about filming scenes in “Bad Boys 4,” where he said he “got to spend time with my friend, Will Smith.” After saying that he’s “happy for Will,” Vlad jokingly asked if he slapped anyone, which led to John speaking about Will traveling the world after the Oscars incident. John stated that Will said it was the best rest he’s ever gotten, and he spoke about Will gifting him a book that changed the way he thinks. From there, John and Vlad discussed Chris Rock’s stand-up special, where he went at Will and Jada. John stated that Chris handled the slap better than most people, including not retaliating with violence.
