A typical pre-game warmup session for the Arizona Diamondbacks became all but typical after one of Zac Gallen's pitches collided with a bird, instantly killing the animal.
Video captured the moment and it's not lost on sports fans that another great Arizona D-Backs pitcher, Randy Johnson, had a famous incident back in 2001 that ended in similar fashion. The only difference is Johnson beaning a bird with a fast ball came during the game and not warmups.
